What is GGVT? The Gamers Group of Virginia Tech is the official organization for video games on the campus of Virginia Tech. We hold regular meetings once ever other week in which members get together to bring and share their games with other gamers around campus. In addition, GGVT also arranges and mediates tournaments. Past tournaments have included games like Street Fighter and Starcraft II. Have a tournament you'd like to see or interested in co-hosting an event for your own organization? Get in touch with us!
Name: John-Charles Holmes
John-Charles is the current president of GGVT. He actively attends meetings and tournaments and always tries to bring his own games to share with others. He's been playing games since he grew up playing his Sega Genesis and his neighbor's NES and loves to play games to this day on his PS3 and Wii. Not only does he enjoy playing games, but he also wishes to design them one day by becomming either a designer or a producer. In the meantime, he likes to pass the days by sitting down with a good rhythm game every once in a while. And if you ever wanna throw down in a round of Puzzle Fighter, he's your guy.
Name: David Gong
Dave grew up with video games. He started with the SNES and Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Bros., and Donkey Kong Country. Later came the N64, some PS1, Gamecube, and all the Gameboy handhelds. He's played a little bit of everything (including 4 years of WoW). Today, he plays on the PC with Starcraft 2 and Team Fortress 2, while rocking the DS with whatever games he happens to fancy. If you run across a Doovad online, that'll be him, or his long lost brother that he found over the last year.
Name: Kyle Parker
Kyle has been a gamer since he first got Pokemon Red with his Gameboy Color. Progressing to an Xbox and Xbox 360, he became heavily involved in Halo 2 and Halo 3, and later on the Call of Duty franchise. He also has played World of Warcraft on and off since the 8th grade, and recently became very involved with the Starcraft community with the release of Starcraft 2. He is currently an active member of the Starcraft Club of Virginia Tech, and regularly streams and uploads Starcraft 2 content under the handle "elyK".
